From the very beginning the MITians had a natural affectionate surrounding and
MIT old boys' association was outcome of such harmonious brotherhood.
Many alumni took keen interest for establishment of such association. They are
Er.(late) Kailashpati Verma, Er. Ramesh Chandra Sinha Dr. K.K. Sinha, Dr. P.K.
Bhattacharya, Er. K.P. Verma, Dr. U.C. Verma, Dr. U.N. Mishra, Prof. B Sahu,
Prof J. Prasad, Dr. A.K. Sinha, Prof. S. Prakash, Dr. B.K. Prasad, Prof. S.
N.P. Srivastava, Dr. Dhrub Prasad, Prof. A.K. Nathani and others. In very
beginning Er. K. P. Verma was the president and Dr. K. K. Sinha the secretary.
Although get together of M.I.T. alumni took place at various other places like
Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Bokaro, Patna and Delhi beside M.I.T. but it could not catch
the rhythm. After great encouragement and financial assistance offered by the
then principal Dr. S.C. Sinha, the alumni association got a solid start and
well organized activities started taking place. In may 1988 , a state level
seminar was organized on technical education field application interaction. The
seminar coordinator was Dr. K.K. Sinha, Prof. of civil engg. & Dr. S.C. Sinha.,
patron and principal presided over the function. Er. R.C. Sinha chairman
cum MD was the chief guest and a number of learned
engineers participated. The present principal Dr. Dhrub Prasad further
accelerated the pace of development of MIT alumni association by taking
personal interest and providing financial assistance. Dr. P.K. Bhattacharya,
president of the association also led the team nicely supported by Dr. B. K.
Prasad, secretary.
The dearth of a guest house for MITAA was badly felt and Er. C.S. Dwivedi
laid down the foundation stone on 16th Sept. 1999. Now the alumni
house is ready and serving the alumni who visit the college time to time.
Highly outstanding alumni Er. Y. Prasad, CMD, NHPC, Er. (Dr.)
C.K. Singh and many others have been monitoring constantly and donating
generously for the development of the institute. This website is also proving as a junction
for the alumni to interact with each other.
