Q. - Do I need to register again If I have already registered in the old website?
A. - No, You need not. You can go to 'People Search'
link to find if you have already registered. Put your batch and branch and click on submit button.
If your name appears, you need not to register again.
Q. - What should I do after logging in first time?
A. - You should go to Edit option to edit your profile and provide your date of birth,
security question and security answer to complete your registration. You should also update the other information
in your profile.
Q. - Why do I need to sign in to the site?
A. This is a necessary step to protect the personal information and messages.
General users have no access to the personal details and messages for MITians. However, they can send the
message and view the messages sent for everyone. They can also get the nominal information about the registered members.
Q. - What is all I get after signing in?
A. There is a separate page for all the registered members. Once you log in after providing your
roll number and password, you go directly to your personal page. Here you can view or change your profile
information, view/delete your personal messages, sent messages and group messages and get information about
your batch mates by clicking on their names and browsing their personal pages. You can also add MITians to your
friends list and invite other MITians to join. Depending on the type of user, you get other options too
(like make resume, write for alumni speak column, etc.)
Q. - What if I forgot my password?
A. If you are a registered member of old site, send an email to webmaster seeking your password. After
confirmation, your password will be sent to your email id. However, registered users of new site who registered by providing
date of birth, security question and security answer can retrieve their password by clicking on forgot
password link
on the login page and providing the correct information.
Q. - What is friends' List? Whom should I add to friends list?
A. Friends list appears on 'My Page' after logging in to the site. It is the list of registered members you are
interested in. They may be your batch mates, seniors or juniors. You can search people to add in friends list after clicking
on the 'People Search' link on the left pane. Search the MITians by selecting criteria (e.g. branch, batch, etc.)
and click on the name in search result. You get the option to add in friends list. Friends list helps you to quickly
send personal message or browse his/her page. You can delete the member from friends list just by clicking on delete button.
Q. - How can I put my resume on the website?
A. This service is available only for the registered students of this site. Log in by providing
your roll number and password on front page and selecting 'log in as student' option.
In 'My Page' you get the link to 'make/edit your resume'. Just provide the information and your resume is ready
for recruiters !
Q. - How to invite other MITians to join?
A. You must be a registered member of this site, to invite other MITian to join. Provide the email id of the
MITian you want to join and click on invite button in 'My Page'. An invitation will be sent to that person to join.
