As the Principal of Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (MIT), I am privileged and honoured to serve an Institution renowned for its excellence in technical education.

Since it’s foundation, MIT has made significant progress and now offers 10 undergraduate and 6 post graduate programmes, serving a vibrant community with an annual intake of around 790 students.

Looking forward, our vision centres on innovation and academic excellence. We are planning to launch new graduate programmes specifically for working professionals, expand our postgraduate programmes, and promote interdisciplinary research. Strengthening industry-academia partnerships and fostering start up innovation are                                                                   also key priorities.

Our achievements reflect our commitment to quality education. In 2024, MIT was honoured by Indian Society for Technical Education, New Delhi as the most outstanding institute in Eastern India. We have consistently received Grade ‘A’ rating in NPTEL, with 750 students (45 toppers) enrolled in 2024 and 425 students (35 toppers) in 2025.
Our students continue to shine, with 68 qualifying in GATE 2025, including AIR 42 in IT and AIR 60 in EE. Many have secured internships at prestigious organizations such as NTPC, PGCIL, SAIL, Tata Motors, Power Grid, BSNL, L&T Uttarakhand, DRDO New Delhi, NIELIT, etc. and landed placements at top companies like BARC, Reliance Industries, ONGC, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL), L & T InfoTech Limited , Mantra, GreenKo , HCL Technologies etc.

MIT has hosted four international conferences and signed MOUs with many esteemed institutions like IOCL Barauni, IIT Patna, FDDI Bihta, MGCU Motihari, CLRI Chennai, NIT Jalndhar etc. boosting our research and collaboration efforts. Our student-led start-ups have secured ₹65 lakhs in funding through the Bihar Start-up Fund and IIT Patna, highlighting our entrepreneurial drive.

To support academic and professional growth, we’ve introduced Best Teacher Awards, upgraded infrastructure with new Mechanical and Electrical Engineering labs, and enhanced medical facilities. Our vibrant student clubs, record-breaking industrial visits, seminars, and expert talks foster holistic development.

This is well-known, alumni play a crucial role in shaping an Institution’s legacy, greatly contributing to its development and prestige. We, too, are immensely proud of our
alumni’s accomplishments and successes. Our alumni, through MITAA and MITMAAI play a pivotal role in mentoring students, fostering global networks, and supporting initiatives like awards and student activities.
And going further , With the collective dedication of our faculty, students, and alumni, MIT is poised to achieve greater heights, both nationally and globally.
